Gentle Dappled Buckskin Ranch Horse

5000

Melody is a flashy buckskin mare, the type to turn heads everywhere you take her. She is losing her winter coat and getting dapples all over, and has four black feet and no white other than the star on her pretty head. She is the perfect size at 14.3hh, stout enough for a man to ride but easy to get on and off of.  Melody is 12 years old, sound and extremely gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off.  She is good minded and willing, with excellent ground manners and a very sweet personality. She is not mare-ish and can be turned out with both mares and geldings with zero drama. She has been used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, has been ridden out on miles and miles of trails at different state parks and ranches, has done some drill team and has been ridden in parades. She is strong to the horn and is not scared or spooked easily.  Melody will willingly do anything you ask of her.  She is athletic and responsive, rides quietly on a loose rein, and is the same horse every time you ride her. She is best suited for an advanced beginner on up, as she is responsive and well broke and has some go if you ask her for it.  Melody sells as grade.  She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. She has a good handle and stop, will move out when asked, and is good on both leads. Melody can be ridden by herself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. She has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Melody is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe, and stands quietly tied.

Amazing 10 Yr Old Pony Gelding

5500

If there was ever such a thing as a perfect pony, this one is it!  You will drive the wheels off your truck and trailer trying to find a pony nicer than him! Dually is 10.3 hh and just about as flashy a pony as you could ask for, with 3 white socks, a big blaze and the sweetest face you have ever seen. He rides around like a big horse, with none of the typical bad pony behavior, and he is stout enough an adult can ride him if necessary.  He has absolutely no buck, rear, bit, kick, or take off, will not try to rub his rider off on the fence or under a tree, and has a sweet, willing personality. Dually is safe, dependable and will take care of your kids 100% of the time, whether they are riding him or just working with him on the ground.  He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, enjoys getting a bath, and is easy to catch, load, haul and trim. He is safe for even the smallest little rider, and while he has speed if you ask him for it, he will never go any faster than you want and will not take advantage of his rider. Dually neck reins and will leave tracks in the ground when he stops, but will also plod along as slow as molasses when he knows there is a little one on his back. Dually has been used for just about everything under the sun. He has been hauled a ton and exposed to just about everything possible. He has been ridden on the ranch and pushed cattle, done all the playday events with a 3-4 year old boy, has carried a flag in the grand entry, and has been used to pick up broncs in the shetland pony bronc riding. We have pushed cattle, swung a rope and drug logs and barrels on him and he isn’t bothered by any of it, but we have not roped off of him.  Dually is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He is good on both leads with a smooth trot and nice little lope. He can be ridden by himself or with other horses, ad doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Dually has never been foundered and has absolutely no soundness or health issues.  If you are looking for a safe pony that your child can grow up with and that will take care of them and teach them the ropes, then this is your guy.

SOLD**Kid and Beginner Safe 8 Yr Bay Roan Ranch Horse

15,000

SOLD**Smokey is truly a once in a lifetime horse, the kind you could drive the tires off your trailer looking for. She is absolutely 100% gentle for anyone, including children and beginner riders.  I am her second owner and have owned her for the last 5 years, and in that time I have done just about everything possible with her. She is a true all around horse that can and will do anything you ask of her.  Smokey is an 8 year old bay roan mare, 15hh and weighing 1400 pounds, and a very easy keeper.  She is selling as grade, previous owner died and there is NO chance of getting papers, but we were told she is Peptoboonsmal and Smart Little Lena Bred.  Smokey is the same horse every time you ride her, whether it is every day or once a month. She is sweet, sane, safe, dependable, and loves to be loved on. On top of that she is one heck of a looker, and she turns heads everywhere we take her. Smokey is not at all mare-ish (although she does love her food) and she is very willing and tries hard to please. I have found nothing that bothers her or spooky her.  Smokey started out in cutting training but after a year she got too big to compete, and was sent to work on the ranch as a 3 year old. We bought her in December of her 3 year old year after her owner passed away. Since we have had her we have ridden her on miles and miles of trails all over Texas, done team sortings, roped and sorted cattle in the pens, carried the flag in the grand entry, and given lessons on her to children and beginners. Smokey is the only horse on the property I trust my 2 year old son on. I have done several Stock Horse of Texas clinics on her and she did very well in all of the events.  I have also done Extreme Cowboy Race type obstacles on Smokey and she will cross bridges, go over teeter totters, through water, in ditches, and many other types of obstacles.  We love her but with a 2 year old child she doesn’t get much attention and is just too good of a horse to waste out in the pasture. Smokey has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and she takes extra special care when she knows a child is on her back. She is very gentle on the ground and easy to catch. I have ponied colts off of her and she is stout and will pull anything you ask her to. She lopes beautiful circles in the arena but also loves a leisurely ride down the trails.  Smokey is broke the way one should be, with an excellent one handed neck rein and a great stop. She will side pass, work off your leg, open and shut gates, and has the smoothest little trot.  She rides just as good bareback with a halter as she does with a saddle and bridle, and she even will lope circles with nothing but a rope around her neck. Smokey is laid back but responsive, and will adjust herself to the level of her rider. She will not take advantage of a less experienced rider. She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She can be ridden by herself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. She has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.  If you are looking for a safe, dependable horse that you can really show off on and have fun riding, then don’t miss out on Smokey. Her kind are very hard to find!

SOLD**Flashy 8 yr old Appaloosa Ranch Gelding

5500

If you have been searching for a flashy appaloosa with a ton of color and shape, one that is really broke to ride and cowy, then Smurf is your horse. He is built like a quarter horse, the perfect size at 14.3 hh and stout with a big hip, plenty of bone, a pretty head and neck and a nice mane and tail! Smurf is 8 years old and has been used in the feedlot and on the ranch his entire life. He came out of West Texas, where he was used for all phases of ranch work including sorting pairs, riding pens, and dragging calves to the fire.  Smurf rides quietly on a loose rein, with a really good handle and smooth gaits. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Smurf is tough and sure footed, and he will go up, over and through anything you point him at. He is an excellent ranch horse but is cowy and has the athletic ability to make a nice sorting horse, and the mind and disposition to make a nice pleasure horse or family horse. Smurf  would be perfect for an experienced child wanting to ride on the ranch with his dad or grandpa and learn to work cattle. He will work off your leg, sidepass, work a gate, and has a one handed neck rein. Smurf is content to walk quietly all day long but will easily step into a trot or lope when asked. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn't mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn't bothered by it. Smurf’s hardship registration with the ApHC is pending. He is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe, he stands quietly tied and gets along well with other horses.
